Economic Relations Between Thailand And Malaysia Since The 21st Century

Thailand and Malaysia are countries with a relatively high level of economic development in the ASEAN region and have a strong influence on the ASEAN regional economy.For a long time,Thailand's economic cooperation with its neighboring Malaysia was very close.Malaysia has played an important role in Thailand's foreign economic cooperation.In the ASEAN region,Malaysia is Thailand's largest trading partner;on a global scale,Malaysia is Thailand's fourth largest trading partner.At the same time,Malaysia is also an important source of investment in Thailand for investment cooperation.However,in recent years,Malaysia's investment in Thailand has tended to decrease due to the unstable political situation in Thailand.Comprehensively reviewing the economic relations between Thailand and Malaysia and understanding the characteristics,influencing factors,and future development trends of bilateral economic cooperation are very important for the further development of Thailand's economic relations with Malaysia.Therefore,the study of this paper is of great significance.This article mainly studies the economic relations between Thailand and Malaysia from four parts.The first chapter mainly deals with the development of the economic relations between Thailand and Malaysia,and introduces the current economic cooperation mechanism between the two countries.The second chapter mainly analyzes the status and characteristics of bilateral trade relations between Thailand and Malaysia.On the one hand,it analyzes the trade scale of goods and trade structure of goods between Thailand and Malaysia.On the other hand,it analyzes the service trade between Thai and Mamma,mainly from Tourism service trade and education service trade start from two angles;at the same time,it also discusses the border trade between Thailand and Malaysia.The third chapter mainly analyzes the mutual investment status and characteristics of the two countries.Chapter IV mainly analyzes the influencing factors of the economic relations between Thailand and Malaysia,and puts forward corresponding views on the future development trend of economic relations between the two countries.After research,the author reached the following conclusion: Since the establishment of diplomatic ties,the cooperation between Thailand and Malaysia in the fields of economy,trade,and investment has been continuously improved.Especially after 1988,the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has developed rapidly and the amount of mutual investment has continuously increased.Regional cooperation has further deepened.Both governments have attached great importance to mutual economic and trade cooperation and have issued a number of encouraging measures to ensure the steady development of the economic relations between the two countries.However,there is still much room for cooperation between the two countries in many economic fields.Among them,economic cooperation in the border areas between the two countries is the key to enhancing the economic relations between the two countries,and the issue of Muslims in southern Thailand is a major obstacle to cooperation between the two countries in the border areas.
