Malaysia's U.S. Diplomacy And The Development Of Malaysia-US Relations Since "9·11" Event

This paper firstly analyzes the development and evolution of the diplomatic policies in Malaysia since its independence, as well as the history of the Malaysia-US relations. Then, it puts emphasis on the diplomatic policies of Malaysia to the USA and the development of the bilateral relationship.After the "9·11" event, taking the opportunity of the counter-terrorism of the USA, Malaysia has repaired the intense relationship with the USA rapidly by some practically flexible diplomatic countermeasures.The diplomatic polices of Malaysia to the USA are affected by many factors, including international ones and of its own. Malaysia is an important member of the ASEAN countries, and the adjustment of the Malaysia-US relations will have some influence on the development of the Southeast Asia and also the Asia-Pacific region and this paper takes China into consideration too.
