Impact Of The University Students' Political Participation On Political Efficacy

Citizens are widely engaging in politics,which is the core of modern democracy,and is the standard measure of the prosperity of modern democracy.Moreover,citizens,who are concern about state affairs and propose valuable suggestions will exert positive impact on the development of national political system.Therefore,in scholars eye,evaluating citizens' political participation is naturally become an interesting research problem.University students are young and full of political energy,and the future belongs to them.The fact whether they are interested in politics or not,and to the extent that they engage in politics will have a great influence on the nation and society.Nowadays,research on political participation has shown that university students are less likely to concern politics,which means they have a low political efficacy.Thus,in order to change this,it is essential for us to guide university students to engage in politics and strengthen political efficacy.But how is the relation between political participation and political efficacy? Through literature review,the scholars' perspectives are different.Generally speaking,they regard political efficacy as the independent variable;political participation as the dependent variable.Yet,this paper regards political participation as the independent variable;political efficacy as the dependent variable.A questionnaire called influence factors in university students' political efficacy from the north area in Nanchang is based on it.Then,the author constructed a multi-variable liner regression to study the listed variables how to influence university students' political participation and political efficacy.Finally,we found that age,political status,urban or rural influencing university students.As mentioned above,among the four dimensions of political participation,whether university students getting a understanding of voting type will apparently elevate their internal political efficacy and external political efficacy.
