Topic Orientation And Emotional Expressions Of Online Discussion About Public Policy

With the widespread use of mobile Internet and social media,the spread of public opinion on the Internet has increasingly demonstrated the characteristics of "strong emotion and weak information" in recent years.The research of online emotion is different from the traditional network public opinion research under the macro view,the theoretical perspective is more concentrated,and the excavation of online opinion ecology is more vivid and detailed.Because public policies involve the general interests of netizens,different groups of netizens are actively involved in online discussion,which provides an important data foundation for the study of online emotion.This study starts with the sentiment research of online discussion about public policy,adopts the "the universal two-child" policy as the entry point,and uses semantic analysis method to structure the topical and emotional expressions about the "the universal two-child" policy on weibo.The generation of online emotion about the "the universal two-child" policy of online discussion is influenced by specific social factors and individual factors.The network discussion process includes the two ecology of the network media agenda and the network public agenda.The network media agenda,as the information foundation of the online public agenda,profoundly affects the formation and evolution of the online public agenda.The public agenda in the "the universal two-child"policy of online discussion presents the characteristics of self-directed and government-oriented.This study examines the emotional expression of the "the universal two-child"policy of online discussion and its consistent relationship with the behavioral intention.Based on the excavation of the emotional connotation on the Internet,this study explores the actual linking power of online emotion,and also explores a new direction of the correlation between online emotional analysis and offline action intention.The study finds that in the "the universal two-child" policy discussion,netizens’emotional expression has a negative and low arousal characteristic.Negative perceptions of the government,controversial issues,and uncertainty in the discussion environment,and the group constructive ability of negative emotion,have led to the creation of negative online emotion under this public policy agenda.In the online discussion of the"the universal two-child" policy,online emotion reflects the reality of the second child’s desire for birth,little reflects the reality of the second child’s childbearing behavior,and can accurately reflect the social intermediary factors affecting the second child’s birth.It can be seen that in the online discussion of public policy,online emotion is not only an important form of online public opinion,but also gradually becomes an important reference variable for the government adjust the policy direction in time.It has important theoretical research value and realistic guidance significance.
