Based on Verba's Civic Voluntarism Model, this study explores the factors that influence Hong Kong Youth's online political participation.Verba's Civic Voluntarism Model mainly includes three dimensions, such as resources, psychological motivation and recruitment.Based on the model, this study has adjusted some dimensions.such as adjusting media information processing skills to the citizen skills which is one of the most important factors in the resource dimension, removing the money factor;at the same time, the political knowledge level and political attitude have been adjusted to the psychological motivation dimension; What's more, the recruitment dimension does not consider the influence of factors such as family and their relatives.I divide online political participation behavior into three dimensions: following and getting information on the Internet, interactive exchange of political information, and participating the network political action. In this study,328 valid questionnaires were issued.Combined with several in-depth interview cases,I analyze the data obtained from the questionnaire by correlation,chi-square regression, and factor analysis. The main conclusions were as follows: from the main hypothesis, both resources and psychological motivations partly affect the online political participation behavior.Recruitment factors completely affect the online political participation behavior.Among the new added factors, identity does not affect the political participation of the network but the satisfaction of life to the network has a partial impact on Political participation. At the same time,i also make a regression analysis between the online political participation behavior and offline political participation behavior.and find that online participation has a significant negative impact on offline participation.Furthermore the more willing to participate in political related activities on the Internet the more reluctant to participate offline. Finally,After synthesizing comprehensive scholar viewpoins.I Put forward some policies and suggestions that ease the political participation of the Internet and put forward the deficiencies of this study so as to provide reference for later researchers.
