Since the normalization of relations between China and Vietnam in 1991,economic and trade relations has been recovered and developed rapidly. The leaders of the two countries signed the joint declaration in 1999,which has made a basic development policy named 16 words policies as for the 21 st century about "the long-term stability,to the future,good-neighborly and friendly, comprehensive cooperation”.These two countries have comprehensively developed in political, economic and cultural field. The economic relation between two countries has a big jump in recent 20 years. However, this relation is driven by an asymmetric framework, from political asymmetry to economical asymmetry.According to international theory,it is often showed that a stronger country will control a weaker one in an asymmetrical relation. But,the relationship between China and Vietnam is not simply because of complicated history with more than one thousand years and a strongly influenced Confucianism. In this thesis,I will only focus on the economy with achievements and inadequacies because of this thesis of limitation of scale. Moreover, this thesis will emphasize the dependency of Vietnam on China in economy field through manifestations, reasons and statistic data.Besides, there is the effect of China ‘s “One belt,One road Initiative” to Vietnam. As a result, some solutions will be mention to improve this situation.
