The Research On Kissinger's International Strategic Thought About The Balance Of Power

Since the entry of mankind into the 21st century,the relations among countries in the international community have become more complex and diverse.The major powers of the world remain crucial political actors on the international stage.And the relationship between big countries directly influences the development of world process and the international order to a great extent.China and the United States are the two major countries in the international community,so the direction of Sino-US relations has an important impact on the development of the world.As the "strategic emissary" of Sino-US relations,Kissinger is also one of the few people in the world who has the title of a theorist,a politician and a strategist.His strategic layout of diplomatic thoughts made important contributions to the restoration and development of Sino-US relations in the 1960s and 1970s.He has still played a role as a think tank in the unofficial diplomacy between China and the United States even after his retirement from politics.Today's Sino-US relation is at a difficult road and the international order pattern is at a new moment of change,the value of Kissinger is self-evident.However,discovering the ideological value of historical figures is like finding a button to crack the entrance,it requires deep historical accumulation,political vision and philosophical thinking.As a young student,it is like being in the flat and looking up at the mountains.It is inevitable that the flowers are in the fog,dazzling,blind,and one leaf does not catch sight of Mountain Tai.Despite this,the courage to pursue and explore academic has driven me to slap this"hardcore fruit." Kissinger's works are numerous and his diplomatic ideas are rich.Because of my limited knowledge,I will choose his strategic thought of the Balance of Power as the main line to carry out the research.Kissinger's international strategic thought of the Balance of Power is based on the background of the "Cold War" bipolar pattern,and is developed to help the United States break the long-standing passive diplomatic situation of "isolationism" and to assist President Nixon in fulfilling his promise of seceding from the "Vietnam War".From the perspective of theoretical logic,Kissinger's international strategic thought of the Balance of Power takes the 17th century European Westphalian system as its blueprint and attempts to transcend the limitations of European classical idea of the Balance of Power.On the basis of American"Wilsonism" and the dispute of Old Roosevelt Morality,it seeks a balance between power and legitimacy,and build a balance of power in a multi-polar world,a strategic trend based on American interests,and a theoretical idea based on politicians' decision-making;From the perspective of practical logic,Kissinger's international strategic thought of the Balance of Power,taking transcending ideology and state system as the logical starting point,seeks a balance between national interests and other countries' interests based on power and legitimacy.By easing relations with Soviet Union,rebuilding relations with China,and withdrawing from the Vietnam War,it has gradually and logically turned passivity into initiative with establishing a US-led the Balance of Power,changed the passive situation of American diplomacy,eased relations with China,and opened up a new diplomatic landscape for the development of China's 40 years of reform and opening-up.Since the end of the Cold War,Kissinger's idea of the Balance of Power has been continuously developed and perfected,and gradually it has formed into the thought of a new world order.For a long time,academia has debated much about Kissinger and his idea of the Balance of Power.Insisting on a dialectical,rational and objective attitude to conduct research,This paper,on the basis of the far-reaching impact of Kissinger's thought of the Balance of Power on today's world and Sino-US relations,explores its value and demerits,and tries to explore its implications of different views of world order in the development of Sino-US relations with the attitude of "selecting good qualities to follow them,bad qualities to avoid them".
