Public Willingness To Participate In Traditional Village Protection And Its Influencing Factors In Jiaocheng District Of Ningde City

At present,some old houses in traditional villages have been damaged and aged due to natural and man-made factors.Villagers are keen to build a capacious and bright new homes and disdain to repair our old house,with the change of the rural living needs and lifestyle,the traditional features of the original ancient villages has been damaged.The unique built environment of traditional ancient villages and their historical and cultural heritage are extremely fragile and non-renewable.Practice has proved that the protection of traditional ancient villages,as a public affair concerning the well-being of the public,requires effective action from the government level and more importantly,effective participation from the public level.Public participation is an important link in the protection and sustainable management of traditional villages,and it is the only way for traditional villages to go from "governance" to"good governance".This paper uses survey method,descriptive statistics,regression analysis and other methods to investigate and analyze the factors influencing the public's willingness to participate in the protection of traditional villages.It is found that age,education level,income,occupation and whether or not people live in urban areas and towns have a significant impact on the willingness of the public to participate.The correlation analysis of demographic characteristics,cognition degree of traditional village protection problems,public behavior attitude and subjective norms perceived by the public shows that the first three are significantly correlated with the public's willingness to participate in the protection of traditional villages.The main factor for the public 'to participate in the protection of traditional villages is whether they have the value of protection.The longer the resident life is,the higher the understanding of the protection of traditional villages is,the more valuable the protection of traditional villages is,and the better the protection of traditional villages is,the greater the impact will be on the public's willingness to participate in the protection of traditional villages.The results of model analysis also show.that the subjective norms perceived by the public have no significant impact on the willingness to participate.Therefore,on the basis of the main conclusions,this paper puts forward countermeasures to better play the role of public participation at the grass-roots level.That is to launch extensive publicity to enhance public awareness of participation;Optimizing the management of village affairs to protect the basic rights and interests of the public;Broaden channels for participation and enrich forms of public participation;Establishing and improving mechanisms to create a favorable environment for participation;We should foster multiple forces and promote multiple,coordinated and co-governance.
