Land is the most basic and important mean of production for farmers,and it is often the root cause of many contradictions in rural areas.In recent years,with the rapid development of the economy and society,the imbalance between land supply and demand has become increasingly prominent,and the scarcity as well as the value improvement of land have increased the problem of land disputes in rural areas year by year,which becoming a hot and difficult issue that the current people concerning about.Rural land disputes are sensitive,complex and lack of timely and effective resolution,which resulted the frequently encroached of crop property rights and farmers' personal rightsThe consequent high number of letters and visits seriously affected not only the harmony and stability of rural areas,but also the economic and social development.Therefore,the effective settlement of rural land disputes has become the most urgent task.The theory of structure function and social exchange was used in this paper.By means of literature,interview and statistical analysis,this study made a qualitative analysis of land disputes in rural economic development.Through relevant data collection and field research,the types of land disputes were divided into interest-driven disputes,power imbalance disputes,and class difference disputes.It is summarized that the main causes of land disputes were the improvement of land benefits,the weak legal consciousness of farmers,and the lack of economic compensation.This study put forward the measures for rural land disputes in the new era,such as establishing an effective economic compensation mechanism,improving the information circulation and the land dispute resolution mechanism,creating a fine legal environment,and building a public system to resolve land disputes and rural democracy.
