SNS Privacy Disclosure

With the development of information technology,social networks have become the main place threatening users' privacy.With the backgrounds of self-disclosure,the collection of big data technology and the disclosure of others,the individual privacy of social network users is unconsciously exposed.And it is inevitable to be exposed actively or passively.The essence of social networks,which is sharing and being open,threatens users' privacy.Social network service providers,third-party organizations and other social network users pose potential threats to users'personal privacy.The resulting privacy ethics issue has become more and more serious,concerning the vital interests of all social network users.Based on the philosophical definition of privacy besides the current society and culture in China,this study aims to evaluate the effect of users' personality on privacy problems in social network and the impact of user's ethics on privacy d.isclosure behavior.In this study,personality means moral ideology(includ'ing idealism and relativism)and value orientations(individualism and collectivism),and users of social network are treated both as privacy victims and infringers.In this study,a survey was conducted through social networks in China.The questionnaire was designed based on those applied in domestic and foreign studies.A total of 737 pieces of questionnaires are collected and 676 of them are available.As a result,this study finds out that moral ideology,especially idealism,does affect the privacy disclosure behavior of users.Users' idea of privacy value cannot help predict their privacy disclosure behavior.Also there is no culture difference in social network privacy affairs.Finally,three advice are proposed on the basis of results of the study from the aspect of privacy ethics.The stakeholders of social networks are proposed to promote the degree of idealism,focus on cultivating moral relativism and improve users' online privacy literacy.
