Making A Study Of The Decrees Of The U.S. Military Government In The Ryukyu Islands

This paper focuses on that during the period of 1945 to 1950,the Directive,Ordinance and Special Proclamation of the U.S.Military Government were collected in Okinawa Prefectural Archives.The 414 decree of the U.S.Military Government were divided into four fields,they discuss politics,economy,culture and society respectively.This paper through selected representative decrees and analysis of the decrees themselves to discuss the status quo and development of the Ryukyu Society,uncover the nature and significance of the legal construction of the period.Further,it reveals the progressive and limitations of the military government in the historical context and considers its reference significance to the current international relations.
