Putin returned to the Kremlin in 2012 for a third term as President, which domestic scholars often call a "New Putin Era." Based on the study of the influence of India in the new era of Vladimir Putin on the development of China-Russia relations, this paper is mainly divided into three parts. The first part is a brief review of the period in history when India had a great influence on the development of Sino-Russian relations. The second part discusses the influence of India on the development of Sino-Russian relations in the new era of Vladimir Putin, from two aspects of positive promotion and negative hindrance. The third part puts forward the corresponding feasible countermeasures to the problems in the second part. The international situation which Russia is faced with in the new era is increasingly severe, and the balance of international political power has changed dramatically.Due to frequent events such as the Syrian crisis and the Ukraine crisis, the relations between Russia and the western countries have deteriorated directly, and Russia pays more attention to the development of relations with China and other "eastern countries".As a result, new changes have taken place in the relations between China and Russia. In the context of the deterioration of relations between Russia and western countries, especially with the continuous intensification of relations with the United States, the main external constraints on the development of Sino-Russian relations in the past, namely the European and American factors, gradually weakened. The development of Sino-Russian relations has ushered in a new period of opportunities. In terms of the domestic situation of China and Russia, the leadership transition of both countries took place smoothly in 2012.The new leaders successively put forward their respective national development strategies and committed themselves to promoting the docking of development strategies of the two countries. In 2018,the re-election of Chinese president Xi Jinping and Russian president Vladimir Putin will provide a strong political guarantee for the smooth docking of Sino-Russian strategies and bring broader opportunities for the development of Sino-Russian relations. At the same time, with India's formal accession to the SCO and the tendency thatIndia is bound to play a bigger role in the Eurasian region, and the interaction between China,Russia and India will increase day by day.India's accession to the SCO not only brings opportunities to China and Russia, but also poses severe challenges to the development of bilateral relations. This challenge is mainly manifested in trade, energy, military security and China-Russia-India trilateral cooperation mechanism.Through further analysis,it can be found that this kind of adverse effect is mainly the competition generated by the three countries in the process of pursuing national development, rather than the structural contradiction among countries. Therefore,as long as China,Russia and India stick to the cooperation concept of "harmony without uniformity, seeking common ground while reserving differences" and work together to strengthen the mutually beneficial cooperation at the international and regional levels, the three countries can completely transform their competitive relations into cooperation-competition relations and bring benefits to the three countries and people around the world.
