By using the methods of documentary research and comparative analysis,combining with historical facts and from the perspective of the political development of the nation state,this paper demonstrates Sun Yat-sen's transformation from building a democratic country to building a nation-state from his political ideology and policy.Then combining the development process of the western nation-states and democracies,it concludes that the construction of the nation state is the fundamental path for the post-modernization country to move toward a democratic state.Based on the development of Western countries and the study of the concepts about nation states,this paper looks at the development of nation states from the perspective of national evolution.It is concluded that the formation characteristics of early nation state are economically connected and structurally unified.With the development of the economy and the ideological emancipation movement,the western countries gradually turned from a monarchy to a democratic polity with the democratic characteristics.That is the evolution from the nation-state to the democratic state.Then take this development path as the theoretical basis of the full text.Next,it is concluded that the character of the Sun Yat-sen's Ideal Country is that A Federal Republican Democratic State Based on the Separation of Five Powers and Constitutional supremacy from the essence and connotation of the Three People's Principles of Sun Yat-sen.And it demonstrates that the transformation of Sun Yat-sen's national development path from a democratic country to a nation state from his failure political practice,as well as the late national concept,the political thought of party governance,and the compromising political attitude.Then combined with the development experience of the western countries,it concludes that the development of democracy needs to be based on the development of the economic,political community and the democratic culture.It is impractical to move directly from a feudal country to democracy.Then it demonstrates the important role of powerful political parties in safeguarding national independence,developing democratic institutions and developing modern industries from the perspective of politics and economy.Finally,the development from a nation-state to a democratic country is the fundamental path for a post-modernized country to achieve a smooth transition and achieve democracy.
