"On New Democracy"it was Mao Zedong's speech at the First Congress of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region Cultural Association on January 9,1940.The originally titled"New Democracy Politics and New Democratic Culture".After the speech,the article was revised and supplemented.It was completed on January 15^th and was published on the first issue of the“Chinese Culture”on February 15th of the same year?Yan'an Publishing?.Subsequently,When the article was published in the"JIEFANG"?the 98th/99th issue?published on February 20,1940,the title was revised to"On New Democracy".Mao Zedong elaborated on the theory of the new-democratic revolution and the new-democratic society and pointed out the direction of Chinese social development at that time.In 1952,Mao Zedong made a revision to the"New Democracy"and collected the second volume of the Selected Works of Mao Zedong published by the People's Publishing House in 1952.There are many versions in this article,which can be divided into two parts:before October1949 and after October 1949.This article lists as much as possible the various versions of the"On New Democracy",including:versions before October 1949 and after October 1949,minority versions,foreign languages,disguise,and excerpts.According to the time segmentation,select the more meaningful or modified version for collation and analysis,and explain and study some of the versions and modifications,and use the modification between different versions as the entry point to the content of the article.Differentiate,based on the historical reality,Mao Zedong explored the reasons for the revision of"On New Democracy"and analysis of the reasons for its revision into four categories,the revised statement and formulation are more reasonable,accurate and scientific;the revised proletarian leadership thought is more distinct;some of the expressions after the revision reflect the spirit of seeking truth from facts;some modifications are due to changes in society and the situation.Finally,it analyzes the theoretical and practical significance of the theory of"On New Democracy"from the theoretical and practical significance of Marxism in China.It not only enriches and develops the theoretical treasure house of Marxism;it also promotes the great practice of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
