In the era of mobile Internet, the popularity of smartphones has made it the most storage device for personal information, and it is also the most serious channel for personal information disclosure. With the increasing privacy issues and the negative consequences, users began to use various means to protect their privacy, including providing only necessary information, providing false information, and uninstalling related apps.On the other hand, user personal information is the basis for the development of big data.Various "Internet +" industries need to rely on user information for product updates, market development, and upgrade services. To this end, behavioral, psychology, business, information science and other multidisciplinary scholars have studied the influencing factors of user personal information disclosure from different theories and perspective, trying to find a way to explain personal privacy disclosure behavior which applicable in any situations. But any decision-making behavior is subject to a specific situation, and people are in a specific situation all the time.It is this realization that more and more scholars are beginning to study user-specific privacy disclosure behaviors based on specific situations and identify some contextual cues that affect user behavior, including privacy sensitivity, justification, privacy policy, and privacy seals, website reputation and some social cues. However, scholars in the past have often studied the individual effects of these factors on privacy disclosure behavior and have reached conflicting conclusions. Therefore, based on clue diagnosis theory and clue consistency theory, this paper uses event-related potentials(ERPs)to study how multiple clues in a specific situation affect individual privacy disclosure decisions.Does the clue diagnostic theory and clue consistency theory apply in privacy disclosure behavior decisions? How do these threads interact if applicable? To this end, this article takes the APP download and installation process as the contextual background, and studies the interactive influences of APP’spopularity, evaluation and privacy interpretation on personal privacy disclosure behavior decision-making.The study found that(1)when APP popularity and evaluation titer are consistent, personal privacy disclosure decisions will be affected by the diagnostic and consistency of clues, and the clue diagnosis theory is applicable at this time;(2)when APP popularity and evaluation When the titer is inconsistent, the clue diagnosis theory and the clue consistency theory become no longer applicable, and the individual’s privacy disclosure decision is more affected by the attribute convergence effect between the high and low clues, which is on the EEG components N2 and P2.It is confirmed;(3)Simultaneous EEG data tells us that when individuals face multiple clues in the context of privacy disclosure decision-making,the individual’s treatment of clues is more similar to the classification process in the brain’s time course and cognitive response.Explain that when we face multiple clues in the situation,we classify the clues more and then make decisions according to the degree of matching between the collation results and the expected feature sets. |
