Comparative Study Of Cheng Hao And Wang Anshi's Virtue Political Theory

The political theory of Confucius and Mencius is mainly based on "virtue",and the analysis of ancient political phenomena is also closely related to "virtue".However,with the spread of "western learning to the east" in modern times,and the population of regarding western learning thought as the norm,the study of political theory started the trend of emphasizing instrumental rationality over value rationality,and the analysis of political phenomena also started from the results of political activities.The introduction of this research method in modern times indeed played a positive role in complementing and even innovating the study of traditional Chinese political theories in the early stage.But as time goes on,with the advance of research ideas and methods,people gradually ignore value researches,either do the emotional and spiritual value.In the field of academic and social life,the "instrumental rationality" seems to surpass the "value rationality",which results in the absence of morality in the modern society.People begin to put material gains above righteousness,and the utilitarian phenomenon is highlighted in the social life and political life.It is imperative to restart the study of virtue thoughts and realize the modern transformation of ancient Chinese political theory,so as to promote the reform of modern Chinese political theory.Cheng Hao and Wang Anshi were the main participants of the reform of the Song Dynasty.This paper analyzes the influence of history on the shaping of political thoughts of Cheng Hao and Wang Anshi by exploring their similar historical background,academic and cultural environment and personal experience.At the same time,we compare the similarities and differences between their political thoughts of virtue in the inherence culture and the way to run a nation.In the spiritual level,Cheng Hao and Wang Anshi pursued the ideal government model,but they had conflicts in the ontology and philosophy;At the material level,Cheng Hao and Wang Anshi's ideas are applicable,which means they can be adapted to the current social reality.However,they are in the process of concrete practice to different value pursuit.Cheng Hao consistently insisted the "righteousness" firstly,and he put value thoughts over monarchy.While in the late stage,Wang Anshi succumbed to monarch,and he reformed thoughts to be utilitarian.This research tries to discuss Cheng Hao and Wang Anshi's virtue political theory,which tries to use the past for the present,and explores the possibility of itsmodernization and innovational transformation,and analyzes its historical value and realistic significance;This paper also aims to provide suggestions for the construction of contemporary social and political civilization with the traditional Chinese ethical theory,and changes disadvantages in the political field that highlights the importance of benefits.This paper combines its ideological essence with contemporary Marxism,so as to further enrich Chinese political theory.
