In the late 19 th century, pandas were first discovered by foreigners on the Chinese border.Once it came out,it attracted the attention of all countries. After that, westerners came to China to hunt pandas and transport them abroad. In the 1930 s,a“panda craze”swept across the world gradually took shape. The social response to panda's “debut”is different at home and abroad, with foreign groups receiving pandas more quickly than domestic ones.By 1939,the Chinese government issued a panda export ban.Since then, the unofficial transportation of pandas has been banned, which provides an important premise for China to start“panda diplomacy”in the 1940 s.In the early 1940 s,Song Meiling and Song Ailing presented a pair of giant pandas to the U.S.Relief Committee for Chinese Refugees on behalf of the national government in order to acknowledge U.S.aid to China in the War of Resistance and consolidate the newly established ally relationship. The“panda diplomacy” between China and the United States has aroused a great response between the two countries and has produced a good social response. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War,the national government's diplomatic center of gravity also shifted due to the sharp changes at home and abroad. At this time, the national government's diplomatic policy is mainly inclined to seek the help of major powers to launch civil wars and restore its rule throughout the country. The two “panda diplomacy” in 1946 started under this background.Among them, the panda “Miss Union”visited Britain by accident, while the donation of US pandas was based on the overall consideration of Sino-US relations and post-war international relations. In terms of social reaction, the two “panda diplomacy”caused a sensation at home and abroad at that time, especially in China.Although the “panda diplomacy” of China,Britain and the United States in the 1946 had no significant impact on the political relations of the diplomatic countries,it undoubtedly promoted the folk interaction of various countries, and also made another great words in the history of “panda diplomacy” during the Republic of China. In the 1940 s,panda with its simple and honest appearance, not only captures people's hearts, but also lays a foundation for breaking the heavy shackles of political and military relations among countries in reality. The opening of pandadiplomacy,a brand-new diplomatic model, has had a profound impact on China's diplomatic career in the future. After the founding of new China,“panda diplomacy”continues to be used and has become an important way for China to develop friendly relations with socialist countries and capitalist countries.
