Research On The Cognitive Processing Phenomenon Of Investigative Interrogator

Investigative interrogation,as a compulsory investigation activity of the criminal judice on criminal suspects by means of words,exerts an irreplaceable role in finding out criminal facts and collecting evidences.The quality of the investigative interrogation typically depends on the interrogator's competence,whereas,the continuous improvement of the Law theory appeal for improving investigator's skill.The current research on the cognitive psychology of investigative interrogators is still inadequate,which is impossible to meet the needs of the interrogation process.The study of the cognitive processing theory on the information processing of cognitive subject is closely related to investigative interrogation.The interrogator,regarded as the cognitive subject during the process of investigative interrogation,whose research demonstrate the value of the cognitive processing phenomenon based on the theory of cognitive psychology.The cognitive subjects studied in the cognitive process theory are closely related to the process of information processing,investigative interrogation.As the cognitive subject of investigative interrogation,it is the certain valuation to study the cognitive processing phenomenon of investigative interrogators with the theories of cognitive psychology.The cognitive processing phenomenon of investigative interrogators is the cognitive psychological phenomenon of the process,analysis and judgment of the information acquired by the investigators.This paper uses three research approaches:(a)the literature research;(b)the case analysis;(c)the qualitative research.According to the study of the cognitive processing of the interrogator and the research background,relevant literature and the research meaning,this paper analyzes the cognitive processing phenomenon of the investigative interrogators: the visual and auditory processing,perceptual processing and pattern recognition of investigative interrogators are described based on their physiological attributes;it also analyzes the social information processing phenomenon of investigative interrogators from the perspective of their social attributes and based on the social information processing model of Dodge,and expounds the six stages of the social information processing phenomenon of investigative interrogators;Meanwhile,this paper discusses the decision-making phenomenon of the investigative interrogators,classifies the decision making of the investigative interrogators according to the decision-making structure and the stage of interrogation,and analyzes the decision-making process.In the current practice of investigative interrogation,interrogators have potential problems affecting their cognitive processing in terms of attention to resource allocation,the efficiency of information processing and the information storage of the long-term memory.In addition,the sunk cost,overconfidence and other psychological issue may also have negative effects on the investigator's judgment and decision-making.Based on the above research,it is completely feasible to improve the cognitive process skill of the investigation interrogation from two aspects,including psychological thinking and the ability to improve the knowledge level.In terms of psychological thinking,through the original cognition,psychological changes in meditation,attribution and negative thinking blocking the aspects of training,in order to facilitate interrogator understand the personal congintive process,so as to enhance the capacity and sense perception and attention to eliminate the negative psychological state;In terms of the professional competence,from the perspective of constructivism,it innovates the teaching form of the training in professional competence,reconstructs the teacher-student relationship,improves the professional competence of interrogators,enriches the long-term memory content,and improves the efficiency of the cognitive processing and the quality of interrogators by carrying out kind of training in the questioning situation and exploring the teaching form centering on interrogation records.
