This thesis on Reconstructing Botswana's foreign policy for greater regional cooperation in Southern Africa is an attempt at exploring some four key dimensions in International Relations that are lacking in Botswana's foreign policy. These dimensions being cultural internationalism, multilateralism, economic liberalism and strategic restraint. The writing will explore first in general how those dimensions would most likely result in regional governance, regional order, economic interdependence and also, enhance regional mutual trust.Following that, the next chapter in the paper would point out Botswana's policy shortcomings in addressing those dimensions and then make recommendations in principle. These recommendations are intended for Botswana policy makers as a kind of nudge to explore new international concepts to revive and reassert Botswana's political influence in Southern Africa.
