The South China Sea has been an inalienable part of our territory since ancient times, but as the South China Sea has played an increasingly critical role in the modernization of countries in the nearby seas, and the rich oil and gas resources in the South China Sea have been discovered, the South China Sea disputes have followed. The South China Sea issue has gradually become a focal issue in the Asia-Pacific region and has attracted widespread attention in the international community. This has led to the involvement of extraterritorial powers. The United States is the extraterritorial country with the greatest influence on the South China Sea issue. The United States' policy on the South China Sea is generally on the rise. The United States believed that the South China Sea was insignificant before World War II.It began to value the value of the South China Sea during World War II.The South China Sea was officially incorporated into its foreign strategy during the early Cold War.From the end of the year to 2008,the US's South China Sea policy was active and neutral;during the Obama administration, the US's South China Sea policy went from behind the scenes to before the stage, and it began a clear "election".After Trump took office, his performance in the South China Sea policy mainly has three aspects: first, the continuous strengthening of the "freedom of navigation";second, strategic linkage and disruption;third,to draw alliances and partners to work together in the South China Sea.The background and reasons for the Trump administration's South China Sea policy are the current drastic changes in China-US relations and the actual need to implement the Indo-Pacific strategy.More importantly, the United States has its own interests in the South China Sea.The impact of the Trump administration's South China Sea policy first disrupted the situation in the South China Sea and kept the temperature and heat of the South China Sea issue,so that the United States has always had a reason to interfere in South China Sea affairs.Second, the United States has consolidated its alliances and partnerships in Southeast Asia and South Asia, which is conducive to the implementation of the Indo-Pacific strategy. In the end,it has had a negative impact on China-US relations and China-Southeast Asian relations. In the future, the Trump administration's South China Sea policy has four main directions. One is to adhere to the "freedom of navigation";the other is to win alliances and partners includingEuropean countries outside the region such as Britain and France to work together in the South China Sea.The third is to re-sue the South China Sea arbitration case and strengthen public condemnation of China;the fourth is to strengthen its military presence in the South China Sea to show off its force to China.
