Study On Villagers' Willingness To Participate And Influencing Factors In Rural Human Settlements Improvement

Improving the rural human settlements is one of the main tasks of implementing the rural revitalization strategy,which is related to the fundamental well-being of the majority of villagers and the construction process of beautiful and livable countryside,and is of great significance to the sustainable development of civlized and harmonious rural society.In recent years,the central government has issued a series of policies to improve the rural human settlements and achieved some results.However,the improvement of rural human settlements not only depends on the government,but also needs the extensive participation of villagers.The role of village democracies should be brought into full play.However,villagers' participation is often neglected during the entire implementation process of rural human settlements and their opinions are not taken seriously and adopted.Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to study villagers' willingness to participate in the improvement of rural human settlements.In this context,this article takes the villagers of Y township,Longde County,Ningxia as the research object,and studies the current situation and influencing factors of villagers'willingness to participate in the process of rural human settlements.Firstly,based on the literature research and field investigation,the related concepts and basic theories involved in this article were defined and sorted out,and analyzes and summarizes the current situation and existing problems of the improvement of the human settlements in the research area.Secondly,using field survey data,a descriptive statistical analysis method was used to summarize the cognition of villagers' living environment,capital endowment status and participation status in the study area.In addition,a binary Logistic regression model is used to empirical analysis the man factors influencing the willingness of vllagers to participate in the improvement of human settlements in economic capital,cultural capital,social capital and control variables,so as to provide a reference for the villagers to actively participate in the improvement of human settlements in rural areas.The main conclusions of this article are summarized as follows:1.Descriptive statistical analysis shows that(1)The villagers are less satisfied with the current living environment,and more than half of them believe that it is necessary to improve the current living environment,indicating that these people have a high awareness of environmental protection.(2)The villagers have a low level of cognition on the improvement of living environment,and a low level of understanding on the concepts,projects and policies of the improvement of living environment.(3)In terms of economic capital,the number of family laborers of villagers is relatively abundant,but the average monthly income level is generally low;In terms of cultural capital,most of the villagers have the education level of junior high school or below,and their educational level is low.More than half of them have agricultural training experience.In terms of social capital,the social trust of villagers is general,among which the general trust is better than the special trust.In relational network,the network quality is better,but the network breadth is general.In terms of reciprocity norms,villagers' compliance with collective norms is higher than interpersonal norms.(4)The enthusiasm of villagers to participate in the improvement of living environment is not high.Among which,villagers are more interested in the improvement of human settlements projects involving their own interests,and they are more willing to participate in the way of labor.2.Empirical analysis concluded that(1)In terms of economic capital,the average monthly income level and the number of family laborers have a significant positive impact on the willingness of villagers to participate in the improvement of human settlements,indicating that the higher the level of income and the greater the number of households in the workforce,the more abundant the villagers' economic capital,and the greater the possibility of their participate in the improvement of human settlements.(2)In terms of cultural capital,the experience of participating in agricultural training has a significant positive impact on the willingness of villagers to participate in the improvement of human settlements,indicating that participating in agricultural training has enriched the cultural capital of villagers to a certain extent,and is conducive to improving villagers' participation in the improvement of settlement motivation.(3)In terms of social capital,network breadth and network quality have a significant positive impact on the willingness of villagers to participate in the improvement of their living environment,which indicates that the wider the circle of communication and the higher the status level of network members are,the richer the social capital villagers have,the more they can promote the understanding and transmission of the knowledge of the improvement of living environment and the signal of their willingness to participate,and the stronger their willingness to participate.(4)Among the control variables,the health status has a significant positive impact on the willingness of villagers to participate in the improvement of human settlements,indicating that the better the physical condition,the stronger the villagers' labor capacity,and the more likely they are to participate in the improvement of human settlements.Based on the above conclusions,this article puts forward measures and suggestions to encourage villagers to participate in the improvement of human settlements:(1)Increase policy publicity,improve villagers' awareness of environmental improvement.(2)Respect villagers' wishes and choices,play the main role of villagers in environmental improvement.(3)strengthen the accumulation of capital endowment,stimulate the villagers to participate in environmental improvement of the endogenous power.(4)improve the participation mechanism of environmental improvement,promote the effect of villagers' participation in environmental improvement.
