A Research About The Social Integration Of The Korean Youth Who Enter Into City For Post-90s Generation

Chinese Korean is a kind of cross-border ethnic minority that migrated from the Korean Peninsula region,it was identified as a minority after the founding of new China.With the development of regional economy and the acceleration of social mobility population,Chinese Korean has some new features of the times in the process of cultural inheritance,social communication and ethnic identity.The research consider Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture(shorted for Yanbian)as target region,where is the largest Korean settlement in China.And the research consider assimilation or integration model as the analytical framework that put forward by the American sociologist Gordon.The research conduct semi-structure interviews for Post-90s Korean youth and observed them in depth.The research try to analyze the process of assimilation or integration of this generation of Korean youth who enter into city.At the same time,it also sorts out and summarizes the basic performance,holistic characteristics and influencing factors of the assimilation or integration of Korean youth,and explores the issues about the maintenance and extinction of ethnic characteristics,the future development of Chinese Korean subsociety.The study found that,the process of assimilation or integration of Post-90s Korean youth who enter into city mainly display in these aspects:ethnic language,traditional custom,social interaction.cross-ethnic marriage and so on.The language inheritance of Korean youth have obvious instrumental characteristic,the traditional customs and etiquette have become a kind of life habit or common sense,the Korean ethnic identity label don't affect their daily social interaction,and the Korean endogamy concept is falling apart.At the same time,the particularity of their ethnic identity have not caused any group conflict.As a result,the process of assimilation or integration of Post-90s Korean youth who enter into city mainly display three obvious overall characteristics in these aspects:firstly,the inheritance of Korean ethnic characteristics has strong instrumental rationality;Secondly,the Korean ethnic culture inheritance presents the characteristics of intergenerational discontinuity;Thirdly,the awakening of Korean ethnic consciousness is related to the contact degree of ethnic cultural symbols,the degree of attention to the current environment,and the comparison of psychology.And the special properties about ethnic symbols and ethnic culture arouse their ethnic consciousness.In addition,in the process of the Korean youth assimilation or integration that enter into city,population mobility and education mechanism are two important influence factors:population mobility integrate the Korean youth more quickly into the mainstream society in China,the Korean family that pay attention to Korean culture can bring up their children to retain more ethnic characteristic,and the Korean students who receive ethnic education also retain more ethnic characteristics.Through the analysis of the integration process of Korean youth who enter into city,it can be found that Gordon's linear assimilation theory is unable to analyze the relationship between its basic performance.The cultural assimilation,structural assimilation and marital assimilation of Korean youth occur at the same time to some extent,without sequence.At the same time,social mobility and modern education together dismantle the Yanbian Korean subsociety,the Korean ethnic characteristics gradually integrate into the mainstream society of China,but lost the ethnic cultural personality.However,ethnic assimilation or integration is an inevitable development trend,which help to promote the harmonious,equal and free development of all of the World' nations.Nonetheless,the unique cultural characteristics of ethnic minority are also valuable human wealth,which should be institutionalized to slow down the decline of ethnic personality,so as to maintain a relatively balanced relationship between the maintenance of ethnic characteristics and the decline of ethnic personality.
