Subjective survival expectation,as an indicator of individual life expectancy,is not only related to the individual's production and life, but also has a profound impact on the society with an aging population. At present, the research on the average life expectancy of the population in the domestic academic circles is measured from objective indicators. There are few studies on the subjective survival expectation of the rural middle-aged individuals at the micro level.Foreign research on subjective survival expects that income will affect the subjective survival expectation of individuals. This paper combines Chinese data to study the impact of income on the subjective survival expectation of rural middle-aged and elderly people.According to the theory of relative deprivation of income, the multilevel models is used to analyze the impact of three different income relative deprivation indexes on the subjective survival expectation of rural middle-aged and elderly people in China.Based on the combing of the literature review and the analysis of the theory of relative deprivation of income and the theory of subjective survival expectation, combined with the research of this paper,we need to select the appropriate measurement model.The2015 China micro data was used to conduct empirical analysis and added control variables such as individual characteristics,ADL,employment status, residential facilities, and mental health. Finally, the empirical part is summarized and the following conclusions are drawn, and the study found that: first,in the same village, the lower the income of the middle-aged and rural people, the higher the relative deprivation of income;second, income has a significant positive impact on the subjective survival expectations of rural middle-aged and elderly people;third, the impact of three different measures of income relative deprivation index on the subjective survival expectation of rural middle-aged people is a significant negative impact. The higher the relative deprivation index, the lower the subjective survival expectation. In addition, the relative deprivation of income has different effects on the subjective survival expectation of rural middle-aged and elderly people,is manifested in the aspects of personal characteristics, individual health, personal living conditions and household size. Finally, combined with the empirical results, this paper proposes policy recommendations to improve the relative deprivation of income and subjectivesurvival expectations of rural middle-aged and older people.
