Geographically speaking, the Korean Peninsula located in Northeast Asia,is bordered on the north by China and Russia and juts toward Japan to the southeast.China has always been committed to maintaining peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula, adhering to the denuclearization of the peninsula, and adhering to the peaceful settlement of the Peninsula issue through dialogue. In 2012,since Kim Jong Un took over the North Korean regime,a new policy towards the United States has been initiated. From 2012 to 2018,North Korea's diplomacy with the United States has experienced from "active" diplomacy to "coercive" diplomacy. It has adopted both hard and soft strategies for the United States, with the aim of improving its relations with the United States, seeking to sign a peace agreement with the United States and normalizing its relations with the United States. To this end,on the one hand,North Korea and the United States conduct dialogue and negotiations on the North Korean nuclear issue, and on the condition of non nuclear proliferation and non connection with related terrorist organizations, induce the United States to recognize its de facto "nuclear possessor" status;on the other hand, for the U.S.-South Korean military exercises, constantly create a crisis of marginal war,so as to intensify tensions on the Korean Peninsula and increase the bargaining chips with the United States And seek to normalize relations between the DPRK and the United States. From 2018,the relationship between the DPRK and the US turned 180 degrees, from confrontation to dialogue. After the interaction between the DPRK and the ROK in Pyongchang Winter Olympic Games and the shuttle diplomacy between the DPRK and the ROK special envoy, the DPRK and the us realized the "Singapore meeting" and "Hanoi meeting",which reversed the worrying war risks at one stroke.First of all, this paper observes the domestic and international environment of the adjustment of North Korea's foreign policy towards the United States: the adjustment of North Korea's domestic political power, the implementation of new economic management methods and the increase of new economic cooperation areas, the security of becoming a "nuclear state",and the increase of consultation capital with the United States.Secondly,it analyzes the reasons for the adjustment of Kim Jung UN's diplomacy to the United States from three aspects: the internal driving force of North Korea, the change of the external perspective of North Korea and the demands of Northeast Asian countries.Thirdly,it analyzes the characteristics of North Korea's diplomatic adjustment to the United States during the period of Kim Jung Un,which is manifested in the transformation from "hostile strategy" to "contact strategy" in politics, from "compensation strategy" to "release strategy" in economy, and from "nuclear support strategy" to "non nuclear strategy" in security. Finally, from the perspective of North Korea US relations,North South relations and China, this paper analyzes the influence of Kim Jung Un on US policy, and predicts that Kim Jung Un is facing cognitive differences in US diplomacy and resistance to nuclear dismantlement disputes. In the future,China will take the peace and development of the Korean Peninsula as its main purpose and play the role of regulator between the DPRK and the US.The geographical characteristics of China and North Korea determine their mutual dependence on security, sensitivity and vulnerability. If China is strong, then Korea and the Korean Peninsula will be stable;if China is weak, then Korea and the Korean Peninsula will be in danger. For China,North Korea is still an important strategic buffer area.North Korea's strategic buffering significance for China, both geographically and politically, cannot be ignored.
