Pettit is an important representative of the theory of republicanism, his theory of justice is a theory with a multi-perspective,combining classical republicanism, social democracy and liberalism, which provides a strong framework for analyzing political and moral dilemmas in the global capitalism and cultural pluralism.Pettit's theory of justice starts from the ontology of the holistic individualism theory, and clarifies the sociality and initiative of human existence, which means that it is difficult to realize the broader human justice space with the distribution paradigm of "freedom as non-interference" as the core value.Pettit cites the status of "free man" in the republican tradition, thus excavating the third narrative of the view of "freedom as non-domination".Pettit believes that freedom as non-domination is a kind of status freedom that embodies the equality of interaction between agents, which is obviously superior to freedom as non-interference in both the breadth and depth of freedom. With freedom as non-domination as the core of value,Pettit discusses the two dimensions of justice theory, social justice and political justice. In terms of social justice,Pettit, who pursues a relational equality, believes that the state or society should rely on "eyeball test" to provide more adequate resource support and protection for the basic liberties, thus achieving a non-dominating relationship between agents, and in political justice,Pettit supports a kind of " individualized"," unconditioned" and "efficacious" people's control of the democratic system,in which the contestatory democracy is the core of the system, but also the key to achieve the non-dominating relationship between people and governments. In the realization strategy,Pettit upholds consequentialism theory, based on the actual national justice, and then gradually promotes the justice of the country.Pettit's theory of justice is not so much a complement to the paradigm of distribution justice, but rather a re-examination of the scope of justice from a relationship perspective, and regards the equality of membership in political society as the essential connotation of justice, which not only expands the research horizon of the justice theory, but also clarifies the boundary between social justice and political justice. It provides an important reference for us to reflect on political life. However,Pettit's theory of justice also has certain limitations, especially in practice, which may be a desirable theory.
