Beyond Liberal Democracy

The western liberal democracy is the dominant mode of Western democracy,But western countries generally appeared the decline of public life, public participation in democratic ideals unceasingly drains, interest group dominates democratic politics, voting can not reflect the voter preferences and the level of the voter preferences, the capital of the democratic political wantonly erosion and other issues. The western liberal democracy is unable to solve these problems. Citizens must realize the country’s domination, including two aspects. This provides a way to overcome the liberal democracy and populist democracy. But Pettit’s republicanism democracy has its own shortcomings, Pettit advocated "de-politicize", the establishment of non-elected institutions makes people under the oppression of "paternalism". Pettit’s republicanism democracy makes excessive demands for citizen, and it can’t get rid of the problem of civic virtue and the malpractice of the liberal democracy.
