A Study Of Orban Viktor's Foreign Policies Of Hungary From The Perspective Of Populism

In recent years,the populist phenomenon has become a hot political issue.With the progress of globalization and European integration,the integration of Central and Eastern European countries and the European Union has deviated,and a new political factor has emerged in Central and Eastern Europe: populism,which has an increasingly important impact.In Central and Eastern Europe,Hungary is the most typical case.It is the first Central and Eastern European country in which a populist political party is in power.Over the years,Hungary has almost become the leader of the populist in Central and Eastern Europe.This article uses populist theoretical perspective to sort out and analyze the foreign policy of the Orban government of Hungary and the reasons for its occurrence,and it plays a reference role in the study of populist foreign policy in other parts of the world.Hungarian populism has its unique historical origins,sources of thought and characteristics,which are clearly manifested in the foreign policy of the Orban government of Hungary.Also,Orban 's foreign policy is produced by a combination of factors,such as personal factors of leaders,economic factors,special factors in international relations and international environmental factors.This article believes that populism is a political logic,that is,the political logic or way of thinking with the meaning of "people".In Hungary,populism can be traced back to the time of Horti,while Orban 's continued administration in 2018 can be regarded as the peak of Hungarian populism.Among the many foreign policies of the Orban government,including refugee policy,immigration policy,relations with the EU and Russia,are distinctive populism.In view of the fact that the Orban government has a fairly solid ruling foundation in the current Hungarian society,and the populist trend is still in the limelight in Hungary,in the foreseeable future,the populist features will remain in the Orban government 's foreign policy.The rise of populist trends is a warning to the international community,policy makers,and academia.It reflects a series ofimbalances in the current European international order,which also means that the international order is in crisis.The research ideas of this article are: First,define the concept of populism.On this basis,introduce the uniqueness of Hungarian populism,and then take the foreign policy of Orban government as the research object such as its refugee policy,immigration policy,and the relationship with EU and Russia to figure out how these policies reflect the characteristics of Hungary 's populism.Thirdly,analyze the various reasons for its foreign policy,and finally look forward to the future of Hungary's populism,foreign policy and European integration.
