As an important achievement in the historical treasure trove of human civilization, the rule of law has played an indelible role in the development and improvement of human society, and it is one of the important signs of humanity entering the era of civilization. The value of the rule of law is not only reflected in the construction of the country's political system and the stability of social order.Even the words and deeds of individuals should be within the framework of the rule of law.Carrying out the construction of the rule of law is not only a task entrusted to us by the times, but also a correct choice we have made on the basis of summing up historical experience and absorbing the outstanding human civilization. As a well-known Italian politician and thinker,Nicolo Machiavelli was known as one of the founders of modern Western political doctrine for his outstanding contributions.Out of different interpretations of their ideological propositions, later generations' evaluations of Machiavelli differ greatly. Some people call him "evil authoritarians," while others advocate "great patriots" to praise him,so the study of Machiavelli has become a field where many historical methods of thought compete with each other. In fact,on the knowledge map of the history of Western legal thought,Machiavelli is an extremely important transportation hub.His thoughts are closely linked with the ancient, medieval, and modern heritage.In-depth study of Machiavelli will not only be able to reach a series of Western spiritual heritage through this hub,but also gain an intuitive experience of various thought history methods,so as to achieve inferences.Italy's economic decline during the era of Machiavelli's life, the interference of politically corrupt churches, and the influx of forces have made Italy's internal and external problems worse.Machiavelli clearly understands Italy's current political, economic, and social conditions. He clearly understands that if a strong unified country is to be established, one ofthe necessary ways to achieve this goal is the "rule of law." Machiavelli emphasized that in order to achieve the country's long-lasting law and order, the rule of law is an essential and essential factor.Taking the evil of human nature as the starting point,he emphasized that law has an important role in shaping the virtues of citizens, and only law can effectively curb people's greed and selfish desire. At the same time,to make good laws and ensure their effective implementation, the key is to have a good army as the backing of the law.Later studies on Machiavelli were not a few. Most of them focused their perspectives on their national thoughts, polity ideas, and military diplomacy. This article takes Machiavelli's view of the rule of law as the research object.Based on Machiavelli's personal experience and his main works, this article organizes and analyzes the content of Machiavelli's view of the rule of law in order to explore the history and reality contained in his view value.
