The United States-Mexico-Canada agreement is an important trade agreement reached by the United States,Mexico and Canada after Trump took office as president of the United States. After two years of frequent exchanges between the three countries,on December 10,2019,representatives of the United States,Mexico and Canada signed a revised version of the agreement in Mexico City, replacing the 25 years old North American Free Trade Agreement, which is expected to take effect on July 1 this year.As a new paradigm of U.S.trade agreement, the agreement has been widely concerned by the international community since the beginning of negotiation, especially the high standard intellectual property protection rules. This paper first introduces the background of the United States-Mexico-Canada agreement, and analyzes the interest game between the United States,Canada and Mexico in the renegotiation. Then by combing the latest intellectual property rules presented in the United States-Mexico-Canada agreement, tracking the latest asking price of the United States on intellectual property issues,on this basis, through in-depth analysis of the differences between China's current intellectual property protection system and the intellectual property rules of the United States-Mexico-Canada agreement, this paper puts forward suggestions for the improvement of China's intellectual property system.
