Since the 1990 s,there is a wave of magnificent informationization all around the world.With the rapid growth of world economy and the rapid development of information technology,global information has become a trend in the world today.Great progress of information science and the rapid development of info rmation technology brings us to the modern information society,our society has been changed from political to economic and thought and other aspects.Along with the development of the multimedia who take the Internet and computers as the main body,teachers should also be advancing with the times,they should change the traditional education model and make full use of the information technology to promote the education efficiency and teaching level.In order to meet the needs of the era,building a new teaching mode and improving the teachers' media literacy becomes the key factor.How to use the mass communication resources in a correct way? How to make full use of media resources to obtain valuable teaching resources? How to use the information technology to improve teaching methods? How to make use of media resources to perfect the self and participate in the social progress? These questions are in front of those who is dedicated in talents training.At present,the research on teachers' media literacy is though not rich enough,but there is a certain foundation.However that for the Uighur teachers' media literacy research is almost in a blank state.As a Uighur graduate student who majored in education technology,the author want to take this misson so I makd a research on the Uyghur teachers' media literacy which aims at finding out a feasible way to improve the education level for Xinjiang region.This paper firstly makes a definition of media literacy,then furtherly analysis the specific content and expression of teachers' media literacy,then use literature research method?field observation? questionnaire survey and a series of research methods to make a questionnaire survey among the teachers in Korla in Xinjiang Uyghur primary and secondary schools?After that,we statistics and analysis the data in detail.Through the analysis and summary,we concluded that the Uygur teachers' media literacy is still in a lower level.This is manifested in the teachers know little about the medium,they ary lack in media contact and media literacy training consciousness.What causes this situation mainly by the reasons follow up: Contact difficulties that brought by the shortage of education resources,slow progress caused by the unreasonable training and hard change caused by traditional education concept,Finally,in view of these problems,this article puts forward some improvement strategies from the aspects of society?school and teachers,such as balancing the education resources ? developing some related training ? building learning communities?setting up incentive mechanism and Strengthening the teachers' media concept and so on.
