The employment effect of the minimum wage standard has been controversial since the implementation of the minimum wage system. In essence, the minimum wage is the minimum labor price. In 2004,our country established the legal status of the minimum wage in the form of law and provided the exact amount of local minimum wage. For nearly ten years, the basic wage growth rate has been about 10% of the average annual growth rate.At present, whether China’s minimum wage system is covered or implementation efforts have been significantly improved, the minimum wage has increased in the impact of labor employment and the economy. The actual situation of the development and the situation of the labor market to be analyzed: on the one hand,China’s economy has experienced rapid development for ten years.Although the gross domestic product topped the list, there is economic transformation, and the need for continuous supply and market development match labor force;on the other hand, the labor market is imperfect. There are a large number of low-income and low-skilled labor,so the supply of labor and market demand there is structural imbalanced. This paper is divided into five chapters to explore the employment effect of the minimum wage: the introduction part is mainly to put forward the research background and research significance, define the connotation of the minimum wage standard, and summarize the domestic and foreign research trends, and finally analyze the innovation and the main theoretical model and the transmission path from the perspective of supply and demand;Chapter III,describe the status of China’s minimum wage and the minimumwage system implementation;Chapter IV,the paper studies the direct effect and mediating effect of the minimum wage on the construction industry, and the influence degree of the construction industry.Chapter V gives the self-view of the research results and puts forward the existing problems of policy suggestion. In this paper, the construction industry is as the representative of the minimum wage wage analysis.Through the empirical research,it is concluded that the minimum wage increase has a negative effect on employment, and the minimum wage is increased by 1%,the number of employment in the construction industry is reduced by 0.387%,and the performance is stable linear negative correlation. Finally, the empirical results show that the minimum wage direct negative effect accounted for about 64.24% of the proportion, mainly for the direct reduction of staff recruitment, the rest of the form of intermediary effect to achieve the performance of capital replacement labor, improve labor productivity and thus affect the final level of employment.
