With the promotion of Curriculum Revolution and the development of science and technology,many teaching models emerge.One of them is “the Guiding-Thinking and Inquiring”teaching model,which aims at developing the students' ability,widely improving teaching quality and cultivating the scientific literacy on Biology of the students.In order to make the students acquire knowledge in a relaxing,pleasant atmosphere and achieve three-dimensional teaching targets.The teaching model emphasizes the implementation of the dominant position of the students and gives full play to the guiding role of teachers,by means of stimulating students' learning motivation and cultivating students' autonomous,cooperative,exploratory learning ability.The teaching model,which is consistent with the concept and requirements of the curriculum standards in China,has been recognized by many front-line teachers and have made some achievements in many schools.This paper is studying how to apply “the Guiding-Thinking and Inquiring”teaching model to Biology teaching in high school.Using the methods of document analysis,questionnaire survey and interview,this paper focuses on the specific procedures,results,problems and suggestions arising from the application of “the Heuristics-based thinking and learning”teaching model to Biology teaching in high school.Based on the analysis of teaching practice and the survey results,the author has found that “the Guiding-Thinking and Inquiring” teaching model adapts to Biology teaching in R middle school in Ning county and using this teaching model can help the students to stimulate learning motivation,cultivate learning interest,and form a good habit of autonomous learning.Besides,the teaching model is helpful for the students to improve their learning efficiency,build a harmonious relationship with the teachers,and thus promotes their all-round development.Meanwhile,the teaching ability of the teachers is also improved.However,some problems can't be ignored when “the Guiding-Thinking and Inquiring”teaching model is applied to Biology teaching in high school.First,an appropriate breakthrough is difficult to find out whichcan guide the students into exploration.Second,it's easy for students to get into disorder in the course of the exploratory activities,and not all the students participate in the exploratory activities.Sometimes,the teaching task can not be completed as expected.Last,the lack of teaching evaluation system is also a problem.In view of the above problems,the author puts forward the following suggestions: "subjectivity" should be the center in the course of the exploratory activities,and a democratic,equal,harmonious class atmosphere should be builded.Teachers should pay attention to the students' group-work,trying to make every student participate in the exploratory activities;In addition,teachers ought to play a good role of guide and allocate teaching time reasonably.After class,teachers should often reflect and try to perfect the teaching evaluation system.
