The core concept of the new curriculum reform is based on the comprehensive developments of the students,it encourages them to get into the habit of independent and metacognitive monitoring learning.The core literacy for the Chinese students' development requires students to have rational thinking,critical questioning and the courageous exploring spirits.Chemistry is a discipline based on the experiments,which plays an important role in cultivating students' scientific literacy.However,students of Grade Nine in our school meet so much difficulty in chemistry learning in practice.As a result,the students' learning confidence is seriously deterred by learning disabilities in chemistry,which even restricts their further developments,so it is necessary for us to study the causes of students' learning difficulties in chemistry in no time and get rid of them to make the students learn chemistry well and have a bright future.We use the methods of literature and questionnaire research in this paper to explore into the students' learning difficulties in chemistry.We define the concepts of learning difficulties and underachievers in chemistry learning in combination with the related literature.According to the definition,we selected the very students in Grade Nine in our school as the objects.Combining the practice of learning and teaching of our school,we referred to Dr.Jiang Yanxia's questionnaires that is about the influences of the three systems which include power system,activity system,support system in students' chemical academic achievements as the investigation tool.According to the results of the survey,we analyzed the reasons setting difficulties in students chemistry learning and put forward the corresponding strategies to change those students.We found out that students' negative and passive learning motivation of power system,low self-efficacy,limited metacognitive skills of activity system,limited scopes of cognitive activity,inefficient resources management activities,teachers' tedious teaching strategies and ways of the support system,the insufficient resources for chemistry teaching,the low level of resources utilization,poor family learning environment and the backward education ideas of parents are all getting in the way of students' chemistry learning.We also find some ways to solve the problems,which include changing educational ideas of the school,broadening the range of chemical activities in class,building faithful and tolerant relationships between teacher and students,applying the ways of praising and heartening and enhancing the communications between teachers and parents.
