Metacognition refers to the process of self-planning,self-control,self-adjustment and self-reflection on the basis of the cognition in the part of learners.,.Metacognition level is classified into the following three dimensions: metacognitive knowledge, metacognitive experience and metacognitive monitoring;and other three sub-dimensions: metacognitive plan, metacognitive monitoring, metacognitive regulation. To explore the metacognitive level can help teachers in targeted teaching, and meanwhile promote students in the learning process to effectively regulate,so as to make full use of all kinds of cognitive strategies, and to improve the learning effect.Students with high metacognition level, usually have a clear study plan and purpose, and also strong ability of self-control and understanding, and they can consciously deal with the problems in the study with flexibility, and know how to choose appropriate learning goals and learning methods,in order to achieve better results. This paper introduces related theories on the definition of metacognition, its function, and its development.Through the analysis of metacognitive ability in chemistry learning, this paper illustrates the effect of metacognitive level on improving students' chemistry learning.Firstly,it uses questionnaire survey to study200 students of grade senior two, with poor and also good achievements to explore the differences in their levels of metacognition in chemistry learning, and also their influences of metacognition level on their learning. What's more, the study chooses four students from the group with poor results to do survey again.Based on the training of metacognitive ability, and also the current situation of high school chemistry teaching,it builds training strategy for students with poor metacognition, and carries on the research on teaching practices during the internship, and to interview students after each practice. Finally,it retests the four students' metacognitive ability with the same questionnaire, and presents a comparative analysis of their two tests so as to analyze and evaluate the effect of the level of metacognitive training strategy,as well as disadvantages.
