Study On The Relationship Among High School Students' SELF-esteem,General Self-efficacy And Mental Health

The study in the paper takes high school students at vocational schools as the object,and conducts the research by three types of questionnaires,namely Self-Esteem Scale(SES),General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES)and Mental Health Inventory(MSSMHS).Based on the statistical analysis of questionnaire data,the related information about the students' concept of self-esteem,general self-efficacy and mental health condition are obtained and the relationship among three elements are also analyzed,which is of great help to put forward some feasible suggestions to the healthy mental development of high school students in vocational schools.The results of the study are as follows.1.52.7% of high school students at vocational schools are suffering from mental health problems to varying degrees,mainly focusing on anxiety,mood imbalances and learning pressure.2.There is a significant difference in mental health among the students in terms of their gender,native place,grade,academic performance and whether or not they are left-behind students.Specifically,the mental health of boys is obviously better than that of girls;the obsessive-compulsive symptoms,anxiety,learning pressure of students in rural areas are heavier those of urban students;students in different grades with different academic performance show great differences in their obsessive-compulsive symptoms,paranoia,hostility,interpersonal tensions and sensitivity,depression,anxiety,academic pressure,emotional imbalance,mental imbalance;the left-behind students gain higher scores than those who not in obsessive-compulsive symptoms,paranoia,hostility,interpersonal sensitivity,depression,anxiety,maladaptive,academic pressure,emotional instability,mental imbalance and mental health.3.Although the degree of self-esteem is generally higher among high school students at vocational schools,the differences still exist in their gender,native place,academic performance and left-behind or not.4.High school students in vocational schools,in general,boast a strong feeling of self-efficacy,however,differences can be observed in their gender,native place,academic performance and left-behind or not.5.By a comparison of self-esteem between the high level group and the low level group,the result of mental health in significance is p <0.001.And the mental health problems of low self-esteem group surveyed was significantly higher than high self-esteem group6.As to general self-efficacy,the significance of the two groups is also p <0.001.And the mental health of the low level group is higher than that of the high level group.
