With the full opening of the "two-child policy",the issue of child rearing has become a social hot spot.Family plays an important role in the healthy growth of children.The growth and development of children begin with family and children's personality shaping,role training and the formation of good quality will be influenced by their parents.The child-rearing values are the basis for the formation of children's personality,which directly affect the socialization process of children and play an important role in the growth of children.China's modernization process is accelerating and diversified social concepts coexist.Child-rearing values of Chinese parents are also intertwined with tradition and modernity.In today's China,how much extent do the parents retain the traditional child-rearing values?What are the factors affecting child-rearing values?In order to answer the above questions,this study uses the CFPS 2014 database and takes the parents of children aged 0 to 16 as research objects.What's more,this study takes the objects' gender,urban and rural classification,highest education level,occupation type and personal total income as independent variables.This research is different from previous research about the definition of "child-rearing values ",instead,"child-rearing values" is defined as the sum of fertility views and parental rearing concepts.The fertility views mainly measure fertility motivation of parents:raising children to provide against old age or to continue incense.The parental rearing concepts focus on the responsibilities of parents to their children,which are divided into "self-sacrificing parents" and "fully responsible parents".The following conclusions can be drawn by using of means comparison and correlation analysis in SPSS 19 for windows statistical software.Firstly,the traditional concepts of fertility are formed on the basis of the feudal,closed and self-sufficient natural economy.It is the common knowledge that people gradually form in the game of competing for scarce resources,and eventually becomes a common view.From the descriptive statistics results of child-bearing motivation,the Chinese family's traditional fertility concepts remain.It also shows that people's conception of fertility is not synchronous with the development of social productive forces,it will maintain relative stability and independence,and there is a certain lag,which is independent of economic and social development to some extent.Secondly,influence factor:By means of mean comparison and correlation analysis,it is found that although there are no significant differences in the "concept of fertility"and "outlook on rearing",the parents' sex,urban and rural,educational background,career type and individual income are still important to influence the child-rearing values of Chinese family.1)Gender:There is a significant difference between the parents' gender and the parents' child-rearing values,the average score of the father is higher than that of the mother,and the father is more inclined to the traditional concept of parenting.2)Urban and rural classification:There are significant differences between urban areas and rural areas about the fertility outlook and rural parents are more motivated than urban parents in traditional birth motivation.There are significant differences in the classification of urban and rural areas between the two aspects of"unhappiness for children and no divorce" and " parents are responsible for the accident".Rural parents more agree with the two points of view.3)The highest degree of Education:The "concept of fertility" has significant differences among the parents with the highest degree of education.The average value of the low educational level is higher than the average of the high educational level,and the traditional fertility motivation is stronger at the lower educational level.The concept of "upbringing" has significant differences in a number of different educational levels,in addition to " parents are accountable to economic self-reliance " and "parental responsibility for emotional happiness".4)Career types:There are significant differences in the concept of childbearing among different career types of parents.The parents of the party,government,enterprises and institutions and the parents of the producers of agriculture,forestry,animal husbandry and fishery and water conservancy industry have more traditional childbearing motives.There are significant differences between the three aspects of the parents' different career types,such as " parents are accountable to economic self-reliance ","parental responsibility for emotional happiness" and"parents' responsibility for accident".5)Personal total income:Personal total income of parents only have significant differences with the "concept of fertility",and there is no significant difference with the "outlook on nurture",and the low income parents under 10000 yuan are more strongly motivated by traditional birth motivation.This study focuses on the characteristics and influencing factors of traditional parenting concept.Only if the parents constantly improve their own quality,and are guided by the scientific child-rearing values,they can master and use the principles and methods of scientific values of child-rearing and achieving twice the result with half the effort will come true.In order to improve the harmful influence of negative child-rearing values,this study also put forward some related suggestions.First,parents should change their child-rearing values,and the state ought to adjust the family planning policy in time.Second,for the healthy growth of the children,don't to be a self-sacrificing parent.Third,refuse to pay too much attention to and grasp the yardstick of getting along with the children.Fourth,set up a scientific concept of child-rearing.
