A Study On The Wage Level?City Size And New-type Urbanization Pattern

In recent years,the construction of new-type urbanization continually accelerates and some achievements has been made,which largely promotes China's economic development,narrows the urbanrural income gap and expand the domestic demand.The rational and effective development pattern not only can narrow the development gap between the regions and cities,but also propel the new-type urbanization deeply.Although each cities sticks to the harmonious development of large cities and medium and smallsized cities,the development of the latter are always be ignored,which exacerbates the escalation of the contradiction.The construction of new-type urbanization enables the labourer to gather in the towns,optimize allocation of resources and promotes the quantitative development of the economic society,however,the migration of laborers are mainly affected by the factors such as wage level,city size and development level.Most of the kind of cities belong to large city and have an advantage over the medium and small-sized cities in attracting the capital,technology and labor force.Thus in spite of the better development prospect in medium and small-sized cities,the production factors can't flock in due to the restrictions,which goes against the development.The overdevelopment of the large cities makes the city disease prominent,such as traffic jam,over-high house price,environmental degradation,etc..Due to the slow development,the medium and small-sized cities can't play the role in evacuating the pressure of the large cities,which enlarges the development gap,intensifies the contradiction and social differentiation and hinders the construction of new-type urbanization.Therefore,this kind of development pattern is unable to make the new-type urbanization come into effect.Now the scholars mainly study the effect of wage level difference between regions on the new-type urbanization and pay insufficient attention to the wage level,city size and new-type urbanization pattern.Thus the thesis possesses important theoretical and practical significance.Firstly,the thesis analyzes the formation mechanism and influence factor of city size fully.The expansion of the city size forms the agglomeration effect,raises labors productivity,reduce the cost of the enterprises and optimize allocation of resources.The author finds that the city size is affected by some qualitative factors.Through the detailed study of the difference of city size from the entirety and eastern,central and western regions,the author finds that it differs in different regions.Most of the eastern regions belong to large cities,the central regions has the same number of large cities and medium-sized cities and most of the western cities are medium and small-sized cities.Secondly,the author studies the development status of the new-type urbanization in China.The urbanization rate in the east region is higher than the west region and the central region is mediate.Besides the difference exists between the cities.Then the author analyzes the mechanism of action of the wage level and the city size and the author holds that the gap of wage level and city size lead to the flow of the capital,technology and labor force and the inconformity of urbanization in different regions and cities.In addition,the author also narrates the newtype urbanization pattern and successful cases.Finally,the author analyzes the relationship of the wage level,city size and new-type urbanization level through the empirical research and finds that the wage and city size are the main factors affecting the migration of the laborers but the effect differs in different regions.The development level,degree of modernization and living quality are taken seriously.With regard to the problems in the construction of new-type urbanization,we should change the development pattern now.The unbalanced development and difference among the regions and cities lead to the different new-type urbanization patterns.The central and eastern regions develop early relatively so the large cities should apply the advantage of wage level and city size,restrict the blind expansion,solve the problems in the development,improve the development level and basic public service,focus on the development of the small and medium-sized cities and towns,increase the investment and accumulation of human capital and apply the capital of foreign merchant to the construction of new-type urbanization.The western region develops relatively late and the comprehensive facilities and bearing capacity is weak.Thus the large cities and the small and medium-sized cities should develop steadily.Besides,we should raise the wages,enlarge the city size to attract the investment and technology,increase the investment in education,attract foreign investment and reduce the financing difficulty of the new-type urbanization.With regard to the new-type urbanization pattern,measures should be adjusted to local conditions.According to the reality,finds the rational development pattern,layout the city reasonably,improve the urban carrying capacity,pay more attention to the environmental protection,enhance sustainable development and promote the develop in depth and breadth of new-type urbanization.
