The Characteristic Construction Of Primary Schools Under The Background Of New-type Urbanization

Speeding up new-type urbanization is the grand strategy of our society over the next decade.A People-oriented strategy is needed to maintain high-quality urbanization and sustainable development. Therefore, maintaining education justice and fairness, improving the quality of compulsory education in urbanized area play a key role in building a harmonious society. With increasing of reform and higher quality education, building up schools with distinct characteristics is an inevitable trend.By analysing the challenges and inspirations which come from building high-quality primary schools with distinct characteristics in urban area, this thesis also discusses the achievements of Hong Qiao Primary School in order to find the practical ways to uncover distinct characteristics while maintaining sustainable development of schools.This thesis is composed of four parts. First, it discusses the overseas and domestic research on this issue. The second part analyzes the relationship between, and influence of, new-type urbanization and the development of high quality primary schools. The third part discusses the practical ways of building high-quality schools with distinct characteristics; these are derived from the author’s work notes, work experience, related school documentsl and area investigation. The forth part is a summary to help find the directions for future research efforts.
