The Research On The Use Of Chinese Learning Dictionary By Thai Middle School Students

Many researchers advocate that if used effectively,dictionary can serve as a source of important information about language or as an instrument for self-study.Dictionaries are quiet necessary to L2 learners,so as Chinese learner's dictionaries to Chinese learners.Chinese has become the second largest foreign language and secured a foothold in Thailand's education system.Middle school can be regarded as one of the main body of the Chinese education in Thailand.In the domestic market of Thailand,the existing Chinese learning dictionaries have some defects such as nonstandard,obsolete,and lack of examples,which lead to the fact that the dictionaries not to be recognized by Thailand middle school students.The existing research on the Chinese dictionary use by the Thailand middle school students is almost blank,therefore,the needs of the related research are awfully urgent.In this paper,a questionnaire survey was conducted among middle school students in Thailand,taking the feedback of the Chinese teachers into account in the meantime,then use the SPSS software to describe and analyze the current situation of the Chinese learning dictionary use by Thailand's middle school students,and make suggestions for students,teachers,dictionary compiling and publishers.It is hoped to draw more attentions from the scholars to study the Chinese learning dictionary use in Thailand.This article is composed of the introduction,the text,the conclusion and so on.The text is divided into six chapters,the first five chapters include the design of the research and analysis the data of the investigation survey,such as cognition and evaluation,behaviors and demands of Chinese learning dictionary.The last chapter summarizes the survey results,and puts forward some suggestions at three different aspects.
