The Research On The Student Associations Of The National Southwestern United University

The Southwestern United University was born in the war of resistance against Japan,and brought together the forces of the National Tsinghua University,the National Peking University and the private Nankai University.It has a special origin and strong brand of times,and its emergence is unprecedented.The student associations of the Southwestern United University appeared with the creation of the school.Despite the turmoil in the fighting,the group activities,poster activities,and cultural and artistic activities in the past eight years have experienced many hardships and continued to grow like wild grass.Affected by some important historical events or social trends,the student associations roughly experienced three stages: emergence and development(the autumn of 1937—the spring of 1941),frustration and sinking(the spring of 1941—the autumn of 1943),revival and disappearance(the autumn of 1943—the summer of 1946).It is true that this division of history is not absolute.It is only an attempt to sketch the whole picture in a descriptive manner,and to carry out preliminary work on the student associations of the Southwestern United University to perceive the basic facts as a whole.The formation of a student association may be the result of many factors,but it always benefits from the leading role of a certain factor: students share the same interests and ideals,or want to carry out group activities to enrich campus life,or unite all forces to promote anti-Japanese war and pursue democracy,or active silent literary world.In general,student associations of the Southwestern United University can be divided into five types: comprehensive,literary,drama,singing and sports.Through specific examples,the main activities of student associations are reproduced,such as posters,speeches,and other rallies.Based on a special era background,the student associations of the school show the characteristics of interaction,openness,inheritance and autonomy.Student associations have played an active role in the running of the Southwestern United University.Firstly,the association is an important platform to improve the comprehensive quality and exercise ability.With the help of the experience and practice of participating in the association in the early years,many members have achieved certain achievements in the future.Secondly,the students of the three schools are closely bound together by the student associations,which enhances cohesion.Finally,the student associations have launched a series of activities around "saving the nation",extensively mobilized the people to fight against Japan,and carried out democratic struggle.Inspecting history should have current feelings.The student associations of Southwestern United University give us lots of useful enlightenment.Nowadays,the student association should be guided by "general education",deepen the concept of student autonomy,and strengthen the connection with society,so that it can play a greater role and value.
