Since the reform and opening up,the national scientific research industry has been flourishing. The in-service teacher group in universities and colleges,as the backbone of the exploration of scientific career, has a comprehensive and significant phenomenon of gender stratification.More and more women are engaged in higher education teaching and scientific research. The academic community has less research on the gender stratification of in-service teachers in institutions of higher learning, especially academic competence, and is in an unconscious state. The analysis and research on the status quo and reasons of the gender grading of the academic ability of the in-service teachers in colleges and universities are of great significance to the improvement of individual academic ability of college teachers and the further development of scientific research in colleges and universities. This article adopts the methodology of quantitative research. The main investigation methods are survey and literature research methods. This study takes Shandong University as an example and conducts random sampling in the six academic departments of Shandong University. Each college is selected as the research object.Obtain the basic personal information and related academic information of the in-service teachers in the six colleges as research samples, conduct descriptive statistical analysis and quantitative correlation analysis, and examine the gendered stratification of the academic ability of the in-service teachers in various disciplines.Taking gender as the main independent variable and measuring the corresponding academic indicators as dependent variables, the correlation analysis was conducted. After analysis and research, the following conclusions have been drawn.First, there is a significant and comprehensive gender stratification in the in-service teachers'group.Second, there are serious imbalances in the distribution of men and women teachers in the professional title structure and discipline structure.Third, the in-service teachers' group has significant differences in scientific research performance and academic influence. There is a clear gender stratification phenomenon.Overall, male teachers' scientific research output ability and academic influence are higher than female teachers.Fourth, both male and female teachers' academic research output and academic influence are quite different in the professional title structure and subject structure. The general situation of the professor group is that the male teacher is better than the female teacher, and the associate professor and lecturer group are the opposite.Fifth, the correlation analysis shows that gender is not a direct influencing factor for the difference in the academic ability of male and female teachers. In the end,the dissertation discusses the causes of gender stratification and the corresponding countermeasures. It is believed that the main reasons for the stratification of university teachers are:First, the family division of labor occupies too much free time for female teachers.Second, the problem of role conflicts and social role identity tendencies exists in the female teacher community.Third, there are occupational gender preferences for in-service teachers in colleges and universities. In order to actively cope with and solve these problems,it is necessary to increase the recognition of female teachers for self-role;it is imperative to break the traditional gender division of labor concept in the entire society;colleges and universities should provide equal opportunities for scientific research and promotion for teachers.
