A Case Study Of Domestic Violence Towards Women

Since family is an important sub-unit of society,our country has always attaches great importance to the family construction.A harmonious and stable family relationship is vital to the well-being and belonging of the lives of the people,which also plays an important role to guarantee long-term stability and security of a country.Domestic violence is an important issue threatening harmonious family relation.Domestic violence is the result of individual,family and social reasons,which is fairly complex.In the meantime,the lack of attention to domestic violence also causes the research and governance of domestic violence to be more complex.At present,anti-domestic violence mainly relies on legal means,but the lag of legislation and law enforcement makes the legal means ineffective.However,social work,as a professional method and means,whose professional and method skills are very compatible with domestic violence governance.The introduction of social work perspective is of great significance to the prevention and treatment of domestic violence.This study is a case study of Mrs.Zhou,using the methods of literature research and case study as well as observation.In this research,after the conflict between the Mrs.Zhou and her husband,cognitive bias towards women and family problem is the main reason for the aggravation of family conflict.Poor family communication further causes the rise of family conflict to domestic violence.Mrs.Zhou's lack of social support has contributed to Mrs.Zhou's helplessness and low mood in the face of domestic violence.This study is based on the perspective of cognitive theory and social support theory to intervene in the domestic violence of Mrs.Zhou,and jointly use cognitive behavioral therapy to carry out the case work.Mrs.Zhou and her husband's deviation cognition was corrected,family communication improved,and Mrs.Zhou's social support network was initially established,which effectively relieved a family problem,and therefore domestic violence has decreased significantly.Through this study,it can be concluded that the case work method of social work is very effective in the intervention of domestic violence,and can effectively improve the psychology and behavior of the client.Social work can be used in people with multiple levels of knowledge.Social work can help to advocate domestic violence related legal policy,popularize laws and regulations,change the concept of the public towards law and consciousness,promote better execution of laws and regulations,thus create a better condition in domestic violence prevention and governance.At the same time,it should be keep in mind that the social work intervention of domestic violence requires continuous training of professional personnel and that service solution design and the choice of theoretical model is extremely important.Polish the methods and skills of social workers,build social support network for clients,and let social work play a positive role in domestic violence.
