| The development level of private universities in different countries and regions are different.In western countries,especially in the United States,the private universities has achieved vigorous development,thus forming a virtuous circle of development,as a result,there are full of the world’stop universities such as Harvard University and so on.In contrast,the development of private universities in Asia are contentious,both in mainland China and in Taiwan area.In recent years,with the public credibility crisis of the University,the public credibility of private universities is facing challenges.The purpose of this study is to explore the status of the credibility in Taiwan private university and analysis the current causes of the credibility problems.Then we try to put forward the corresponding solutions and promote the credibility of the private universities in order to guarantee the long-term development of private universities and improve the quality of higher education meanwhile cultivating excellent talents for the society.In this study,we use the method of literature collection to sort out the current research situation and key words at home and abroad,thus establishing the connotation dimension of the research on the credibility of private universities-recognition,satisfaction and trust.By using investigation method of interview survey and questionnaire,we selected the Taiwan province Taipei City,Taichung City,Tainan City,Kaohsiung City as our objects with SPSS20.0.We have reached the conclusion that the credibility of private universities is in the middle level in Taiwan area.Based on this,We have found the problems behind the phenomenon:the first one is that the funding of research cuts;the second one is that the social stereotype of private university in Taiwan,and the third one is that the phenomenon of "less children" is prominent,which affects the normal teaching of private universities.The fourth one is that some private universities pay too much attention to scale expansion,which makes the quality of education challenged.The fifth one is that the management system of Private Universities is not perfect,and the last one is that the private university students’ employment and the starting salary is not very good.Finally,based on the in-depth analysis of the research results,we put forward to some suggestions focused on the two dimensions of the government and the university itself.In the government level,the government should implement the "exit system",increase financial support,and maintain the development of private universities and higher education fairness,correct guidance of public opinion as well strengthening positive propaganda.As to the universities,they need to improve the quality of university education and the employment rate,improve and perfect various management systems meanwhile strengthening internal propaganda. |
