In recent years,the middle school examination paper of Zhangzhou City and the textbook arrangement of Beijing normal University edition of "quadratic equation with one variable" embodies the thought of "Yanduanshu".The significance of mathematics history to mathematics education has been recognized by many mathematics educationalists.So,this study will discuss the historical development of Yanduanshu,the significance of Yanduanshu to the teaching of quadratic equation with one variable and the effect of Yanduanshu into the teaching of quadratic equation with one variable.This study first analyzes the historical origin and development process of Yanduanshu.Then,based on the literature and theories,the teaching significance and possibility of Yanduanshu into the quadratic equation with one variable are discussed.Finally,this study designs the teaching plans of the Yanduanshu into the quadratic equation with one variable.Adopting the experimental method,this study carries out the teaching experiment of the Yanduanshu into the quadratic equation with one variable.Through the questionnaires and the test paper,analysis of the influence of Yanduanshu the quadratic equation of one variable on students will be shew.The conclusions of this study are as follows:1.Yanduanshu originated the principle of complementary inconsistency in the three Kingdoms period.In the Song and Yuan dynasties,it gradually changed from the Tiaoduanshu to the Tianyuanshu and Siyuanshu.In the Ming Dynasty,with the loss of Tianyuanshu,it turned to decline.Yanduanshu is a method of calculating the coefficients of equations or polynomials.In the early days,it was a method of dividing the graph properly and then making it possible to work out the coefficients of the equation.Since the birth of Tianyuan,it gradually changed from the intuitive geometric method to the abstract algebraic method.2.The integration of Yanduanshu into the quadratic equation with one variable has the following teaching meanings: infiltrating the thought of combination of numbers and shapes;providing intuitive help;deepening the understanding of the equation;deepening the understanding of the matching method;improving the enthusiasm and interest of learning.3.The integration of Yanduanshu into teaching can improve the students’ enthusiasm and interest,deepen the students’ understanding of the equation,promote the students’ understanding of the matching method,and experience the idea of the combination of numbers and shapes.
