With the flourishing development of the tourism industry,the society needs a large number of high quality tourism infrastructure services personnel.The quality of talent depends largely on the Students' academic engagement,which is a kind of measurement standard to evaluate the quality of education results.This paper aims to improve the student academic engagement by exploring the present situation of the student academic engagement and its influencing factors.What's more,It maybe provide possible theoretical guidance to secondary vocational schools and teachers of the department of tourism and send out more excellent tourist service personnel to society.According the theory of Fredricks,academic engagement refers to the high involvement of emotion,cognitive strategy and behavior in learning.The author divided the student academic engagement into behavioral engagement and affective engagement and cognitive engagement.The affective engagement refers to the emotional attitude of learning.The behavioral engagement refers to the behavioral of academic or non-academic activities.The cognitive engagement refers to the psychological resources and cognitive strategies of learning.On the basis of literature research and interview,this paper divided the influencing factors of the student cademic engagement of the department of tourism service and management into individual internal factors and the school environment factors.The individual internal factors includes learning interest and academic self efficacy.The school environment factors include teacher support and campus interpersonal interaction and college support.The author analyzed and discussed the collected data which is based on 551 questionnaires on student academic engagement and its influencing factors,combined with field observation and interview at a tourism school.The results of the study are as follows:1.On the whole,the Student academic engagement of secondary vocational students in tourism service and management is medium level.The behavioral engagement is high and the cognitive engagement is low.Among the factors of the students' academic engagement,academic self-efficacy is low and campus interpersonal interaction is high.2.The behavioral engagement of class leader is higher than not class leader.The cognitive engagement of city students is higher than rural students.The higher the grade,the affective engagement of students the lower.The higher the father's education is,the higher the student's cognitive engagement is.Parents pay more attention to children's learning,their children's affective engagement and behavioral engagement are more higher.3.Learning interest,teacher support and campus interpersonal interaction have a significant influence on behavior,cognitive and affective Engagement.Academic self-efficacy influences behavior and cognitive Engagement.College support influences behavior engagement.The important degree of influencing factors of behavior engagement is following:learning interest,campus Interpersonal-interaction,academic self-efficacy,teacher support and college support.The important degree of influencing factors of cognitive engagement are academic self-efficacy,learning interest,teacher support and campus interpersonal interaction.The important degree of influencing factors of affective engagement are learning interest,teacher support,campus interpersonal interaction.According to the above findings,in this paper,the following suggestions are put forward to improve the students' academic engagement in secondary vocational school.Stimulate students' learning interest to improve their academic engagement;Enhance students' academic self-efficacy to improve students' academic engagement;Strengthen the support of college environment to improve academic engagement;Improve home environment to improve students' academic engagement.
