"Strong sports boost a strong China;in turn,a flourishing China nurtures a flourishing sports cause." Private universities and colleges are important part of higher institutions in our country,whose teaching quality is mainly affected by teachers and their teaching level,attitude,scientific research and innovation will directly determines the quality of training talents.As important members of the teaching faculty,Physical Education(PE)teachers in private institutions are the organizers and implementers of physical education,burdened with multiple functions such as physical education and sports training,whose professional level determines students' all-round development of morality,intelligence,physique and aesthetic.This research studies on the private universities' PE teachers and uses literature resources and questionnaires as its study methods.Through investigation and analysis on PE teaching staff construction in the private universities in Hubei Province,the author finds out the advantages and disadvantages of PE teachers,which will provide references for related management department and universities to develop and perfect the policy,and provide a good theoretical basis for the improvement of private universities PE teachers,team construction.Through this research,the following conclusions are drawn:Firstly,basically speaking,young and middle-aged PE teachers takes the majorities of PE teachers in private colleges with appropriate gender ratio,high sports skill and good professional structure,which benefits the physical education.However,the insufficiency of PE teachers,irrationality of the proportion of professional and part-time teachers,the lower education background,and irrationality of the professional title structure is obvious and teaching ability needs to be improved.What's more,they mostly specialized in ball games and the coaches of other major sports events are deficient.Secondly,from the perspective of salary,PE teachers in private universities of Hubei Province have low satisfaction on salary,which mainly because of low regular wage and allowance especially when compared with other professional teachers.Thirdly,in terms of occupational psychology,the job satisfaction of PE teachers is low,and most of them have chosen private universities because they have not found better jobs.They think that the development prospects of private colleges are generally lower than other careers.They are worried about unemployment and are not satisfied with the teaching environment.Fourthly,from the perspective of teaching,PE teachers in private colleges of Hubei usually have too many classes with large-capacity class and heavy workload.Courses are mainly technology-oriented,few on theory.What's more,courses are usually traditional ones,which seldom designed according to social development as well as students'physical and mental development.In addition,most of the teaching syllabus are borrowed from other universities,instead of according to their actual situations.Except of that,the teaching plans uses well.Fifthly,in terms of after-school training,the PE teachers in private higher universities in Hubei takes the majority work of team training,which benefits the development of after-school training.However,weekly training is inadequate and increasing the training frequency would ensure the effectiveness of training.Sixthly,in terms of scientific research,PE teachers have low satisfaction on scientific research since they publish papers mostly with the purposes of assessing titles and payment improvement.The amount of papers is low,the level is not high and monographs and textbooks are also less,which might be affected by heavy workload,difficulty in application for research projects and inadequacy of theoretical knowledge and so forth.Seventhly,as for training and further education,PE teachers have strong willingness to take training and they think training and further education are of great help to work.However the universities attach little importance on it and are lack of funds,which lead to insufficient and low-level training.Aiming at the problems above,the following suggestions are given:to equip the appropriate amount of physical education teachers with the number of students;to appropriately employ part-time teachers and to strengthen the introduction of teachers with high education background and proficient skills;to introduce PE teachers who could deliver relevant courses according to the requirements of social development and students' physical and mental development;to improve the wages of PE teachers in these areas;to fairly treat PE teachers in private colleges and universities so as to improve teachers' recognition on private universities and to improve the teaching environment;to optimize education by formulating scientific and reasonable syllabus,setting up teaching objectives and teaching contents which conforms to social development and students'physical and mental development and increasing input in theory teaching;to scientifically locate the school type,to provide necessary guidance on the scientific research for PE teachers,to further support the training and further education of PE teachers and to increase the funding support.
