In this paper,two elementary foreign language textbooks,YCT Standard Tutorial 1 and YCT Standard Tutorial 2 jointly developed by Hanban and Higher Education Press,are used as research objects.Based on the theoretical research,the data are used.Statistical,quantitative analysis,comparative analysis and other research methods conducted a comprehensive investigation.At the same time,Comparing the two textbooks for Chinese as a foreign language,"Happy Chinese"1 and "Life Chinese".The study of this paper is divided into eight chapters:The first chapter,"introduction".It mainly explains the origin and significance of this topic research,and elaborates the research object,research status and research methods of this topic.The second chapter is about the discuss on overall design of "YCT Standard Tutorial 1" and "YCT Standard Tutorial 2".The teaching materials follow the principle of "combining teaching with education" and "developing students' multiple intelligences",so that they can be based on evidence,scientific and reasonable.At the same time,the overall structure of the teaching materials is well-organized and in a proper sequence,but the supporting paper resources and multimedia resources are relatively scarce.From the third chapter to sixth chapter,the author conducted a comprehensive inspection of the two textbooks from four aspects:vocabulary,grammar,text,and practice,and analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of the textbook.In terms of new words,the selection of new words in the two textbooks is based on the "New Year Primary School Elementary Chinese Test Outline(YCT)"(hereinafter referred to as the"YCT Examination Outline"),with moderate numbers,moderate grades,and varied interpretation patterns.However,there are some irrationalities in the control of the number and difficulty of new words in the short stories after class.In terms of grammar,the overall number of grammar items selected and the level of difficulty are basically in line with the "YCT exam outline".The grammar item segmentation and sorting also follow the principle of difficulty.However,there is a case where the single lesson grammar item is unevenly distributed.As for the texts,the contents of the two textbooks are simple and practical.At the same time,the distinctive illustration design also meets the children's psychological cognitive characteristics.The integration of cultural points into the layout of the text allows students to understand Chinese culture in a subtle manner.However,the genre of texts needs to be appropriately expanded to enrich the expression of texts.In terms of practice,the two textbooks will be divided into two parts:classroom exercises and after-school tests.This is the biggest feature of this set of textbooks.Classroom exercises are lively and varied.After-school test questions are based on the "YCT exam Zhenti" reference,and the "combination of test and teaching" is realized.The last two chapters,based on the strengths and weaknesses of the two textbooks,the author provided three suggestions for the preparation of primary Chinese textbooks for overseas elementary and middle school students:"Moderately Moderate,Moderately Easy and Moderate","Newly Contented,and Rich in Forms"."Resource integration,strengthen multimedia operations",And summed up the paper.
