This study chooses the Entrance Exam of Senior Middle School,in the years of 2017,2016 and 2015,between Guangzhou and Singapore,as the main research content.In Singapore,it is known as General Certificate of Educationary Level.The paper compares and studies the exams in both Guangzhou and Singapore by using literature method,comparative method and content method under Bao Jisheng's mathematical multi-factor model.Based on the analysis of data and conclusions,this paper aims to provide suggestions for the reform of mathematics curriculum and mathematics teaching in the compulsory education in Guangzhou.Main research tasks are:1.Basic education mathematics curriculum reform in both places;2.The comparison between the main frame and the knowledge point of the math test in the two places.3.Comparison of the difficulty about math test questions in the two places,mainly from three aspects:algebra,space and graph,statistics and probability.By comparing the difficulty about the exam papers of the Entrance Exam of Senior Middle School in these two places,the conclusions of them are found as follow:1.In the area of algebra,the background level of Guangzhou Test is not as rich as that of Singapore.There was no significant difference in the level of inquiry between them.Guangzhou Test is higher than that of Singapore in the level of operation,reasoning and knowledge content.2.In the area of geometry,the background level of Guangzhou Test is not as rich as that of Singapore.There was no significant difference in the level of inquiry between them.Guangzhou Test is lower than that of Singapore in the level of operation,but higher in reasoning and knowledge content.3.In the area of statistics and probability,there was no significant difference in the levels of the background,inquiry and operation,but Guangzhou Test is lower than that of Singapore in the levels of reasoning and knowledge content.Through a rough comparative study of the existing mathematics curriculum standards,mathematics examination syllabus and math test questions,along with careful comparative analysis of the exam questions,the conclusions above are reasonable and cientific.Due to the optimization of the courses,the two exam questions have their own advantages and are worth learning from each other.
