The Framework Analysis Of The BBC's Website And CCTV's Website About The Controversial Events Of The London Olympic Games

The 2012 London Olympics made London the city with the largest number of summer games so far,and the second city hosting the Olympic Games three times in the history.These Games attracted 5800 registered reporters from more than 180 countries,15000 television personnel,as well as 5000-6000 non-registered reporters to interview reports,twice as many as the number of athletes,a real "reporter Olympic Games".During the London Olympics,the various countries' media based on its own political system and values,for the Olympic Games dispute events reported in the perspective,view,focus and purpose there are significant differences.Especially because of the asymmetry between the Chinese and Western media in the international discourse,in the controversial events involving China,the Chinese and Western media reports are even more different.After a series of controversies about China's athletes at the 2012 London Olympics,especially Ye Shiwen won two gold medals in the medley.Western media represented by BBC websites and Chinese media represented by CCTV websites have very different forms when they cover Ye Shiwen.Based on the framework theory,this paper adopts the methods of literature,content analysis,comparative analysis and case analysis.Taking the controversial issues concerning China during the London Olympic Games as the research objects,analyze the different reports on the controversial issues of the London Olympics by CCTV and the BBC website.Discuss the differences between the different media in the theme frame,structure frame and discourse framework and the cultural and institutional factors behind them.Through the analysis of the differences between the mainstream media reports in China and Britain,the reasons for these differences are further discussed.Thus it is concluded that:first,the political interests represented by different political systems are the real reasons for the differences between the two media reports;second,different cultural background,a profound impact on the media coverage of the two tendencies;third,different pursuit of the purpose of the two media coverage of the subjective factors.
