Research On Alien Resident's Sport And Chinese Sport Report Based On North China Daily News Between 1927 And 1937

North China Daily News,which is a supplement to North China Herald,was built by Shearman in Shanghai at 1856.It is an English newspaper of the longest history that published in China.North China Daily News have covered every aspect of social life,including advertising,finance,commerce,alien's information,shipping,entertaining and sport news.It can be counted as a window for foreigners to know Shanghai and China.The paper tries to understand the sport activity from the perspective of Englishmen based on the sport report of North China Daily News,then pick out the realted sport information,and translated it for the research of Chinese scholars.It aims to duly reproduce the sport lifestyle of the Western nationals in Shanghai and makes up for the related vancacy of the modern researches on Shanghai sports history.Although North China Daily News is a newspaper serving for alien residents,its focus is not only on foreigners,but also on Chinese.Its report of Chinese sport news is as flourish as aliens'.The reasons why the paper limit the timespan between 1927 and 1937 firstly is because it is a peaceful ten years that China's society has made progress and people have paid more attention on sport activity so that enriching the sport report of North China Daily News.Secondly,during this ten years,Alien resident and Chinese sport have broken the barrier,although there are still lots of obstacles,some common points have been found.Based on the racing,football,field and track,and other ball games of alien resident's sport report,as well as three national sport meetings and three far eastern Olympics of Chinese sport report in North China Daily News,the paper tries to express an opinion that the relations between alien resident's sport and Chinese sport is unseparable,and the alien resident is undispeansable during the development of Chinese modern sport.
